Extrapolation:

Extrapolation is the process that is used

to estimate the values of a function or a quantity

outside a given range of values.If it the past figures

are used to try and predict the future .The extension

of curve beyond the known range of values gives an

estimate of unknown parameters.In case the curve is

a straight line then the extension if called linear extrapolation.
